A science based analytical framework is being developed that captures not only the production aspects, but also the ecological, economic and social aspects of family farms. We will focus on crop and livestock production systems at the farm and at the regional level.


The programme is organised into 4 integrated projects with case studies in Brazil and Mozambique. These case studies offer possibilities for direct policy and commercial impact and for comparison of the production system and their contexts.
